Tamiya Championship Series Race is set for May 4, 2008.
Well another TCS Race has come and gone! We want to thank the Tamiya people for allowing us to host such a great and joyous event. According to Gary from Tamiya, this race probably set the attendance record for most minis at any Tamiya race. The weather finally cooperated with us so we could have a great time. Even though it rained like crazy on Friday, we had a beautiful and wonderful weekend of fine racing. If you missed this one it was not one to miss! Gary even showed us he could do more than tech cars, with the great showing of Vintage cars this year. Now that was a great class, running Tamiya's older front wheel drive cars. We had 69 minis race, which proved to be the stiffest class of all. There was some real talent in that class and we want to congratulate Lee Thompson, Jason Lutz and Dave Hill for their showing of 4th, 5th and 6th place in the A-main. We are going to get the guys from out of town next year, you can bet on that one. That was one of the best races of the weekend and just making the A-main out of 69 people was quite a feat in itself. There was great food and tremendous friendship throughout the weekend. So if you missed us this year I would plan on trying to come out and visit us next year. This event just keeps on getting bigger and bigger thanks to the great racers that choose to come and help us make this event the TCS race to be at.

2007 Events
- May 12th 2007 MSRA went to the Big M Motorfest @ Olive Branch City Hall 9200 Pigeon Roost Road, Olive Branch. They had a car show and we put on an exhibition for the spectators walking around. We hope to do this again next year.
- July 21 & 22, 2007 MSRA held its 7th annual Beat the Heat Bash @ Mid South Hobbies. We had a great turnout and a great time as usual. I would like to say thanks to all the people that came in from out of town. Expert Nitro was a tough class until JLock stepped on a pipe and twisted his ankle, that took him out of contention for a chance to get another BTH trophy. That seemed to be the only bad thing that happened all weekend. I would like to thank Mark and Jackie Garret for all their hard work to make this event a huge success. We had wonderful door prizes and everyone that came had a great time, and got plenty to eat.

MSRA was invited to go to Selmer, Tn. for the 1st Annual Cars For Kids Charity Race. A few of us packed up and went there to have a great time and some great racing. This is a very worthwhile charity and the fairgrounds were packed. In addition to the RC Racing, they had tractor pulls, helicopter rides and a great car show. It is a very organized function and we all felt privileged to be a part of it. All proceeds go to the handicapped children. I believe that Jim and company are planning on having this as a regular event from now on. Thanks Jim!!

Mini Cup 2007
- Frank Renhelt came up with a super teriffic idea this year and MSRA hosted the "Mini Cup 2007." It turned out to be a really fun and well attended event, where people were awarded with medals just like the olympics. Gold for first, silver for second and of course bronze for third. The winners each week were then put "up on a pedestal and they were all three given a bottle of Perrier water and they sprayed each other and everyone that was close while playing a national anthem of whichever country they chose. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves very much and it was quite a sight to see.
- They have also come up with a new class that is showing a lot of promise which is Vintage. We are running the Tamiya TT-01 Chassis with a pre 1970's body on it. The guys are still working out the details on what will and what will not be allowed. This was started and ran for the last few weeks and showed a lot of interest. Seeing those those older car models looked really good, brings back some old memories.
